Crooks and Liars: "Uncle Sam comes through again

A message to the American citizens in Lebanon:
'The Department of State reminds American citizens that the U.S. government does not provide no-cost transportation but does have the authority to provide repatriation loans to those in financial need [emphasis mine]. For the portion of your trip directly handled by the U.S. Government we will ask you to sign a promissory note and we will bill you at a later date."
Wow the US govt strikes again. The usual "best of luck" statement. Whereas the British are thinking of performing another "Dunkirk-type" of rescue of their citizens. Why did the US not already have a plan in order since the middle east is such an unstable zone? Oh, snap! That would require brains, something sorely lacking in the Bush administration.
A progressive liberal Grandma cooks and tries to find a job, after losing her job of 18 years. Can an older RN find full time work or enough part time work to satisfy her budget needs and help raise her grandkids? What can grannie cook for a family of 6 on a miserly budget? Can a knitter afford her yarn on unemployment?. This blog is morphing from its original content to reflect the realities of 2011.
